Meet Grokk
“Oh. You haven't met Grokk yet? That explains a lot.”
He's the big green fellow you've seen all over Deviant Dice Rollers — ringing the Tavern Bell, handing out advice nobody asked for, rattling dice in the corner, turning up on half the pages you've visited.
Grokk isn't a character from Malediction. He's a player. Just like us.
He builds decks. He paints miniatures. He rolls dice, tries strategies that absolutely should have worked, celebrates his victories loudly and survives his losses with a mug in hand. When he isn't playing, he's keeping the Tavern open.

Welcome
Welcome to Grokk's Tavern
Nobody is quite sure where the Tavern actually is. Ask Grokk and you'll probably get a different answer every time — a different road, a different century, a different reason he ended up behind the bar.
The truth is simpler. The Tavern isn't a fixed place. It's wherever Malediction players gather:
- your local game store
- a kitchen table
- a tournament hall
- a Tabletop Simulator lobby
- this website
- the Discord
If dice are being rolled, the door is somewhere nearby.
Grokk's one rule
Everyone gets a seat
Conclave
Legion
Order
Primal Blood
Reigning champion or brand-new recruit. Master painter or first brush on the first model. Ruthless competitor, kitchen-table casual, deck-building tinkerer, lore reader, or pure dice goblin. It doesn't matter which faction you swear to or how your last game went.
Pull up a chair.

At the table
Grokk Plays Too
He isn't a spectator with a towel over his shoulder. Grokk plays Malediction. He has favourite strategies, strong opinions about cards nobody else rates, and a small set of dice he trusts more than the rest — for reasons he refuses to justify.
Some of his plans are brilliant. Some of them are… also his. Winning is fun, and he'd be lying if he said otherwise.
Rolls the dice
Great games, terrible rolls, and one Reinforcement he swears was fated.
Paints the models
Half-finished units on the bar and one miniature he'll never stop touching up.
Teaches the game
Nothing beats watching someone win their first battle.

Eventually the battle ends. The scores get written down and forgotten. It's the people across the table who bring you back next week.

First time?
New to Malediction?
Grokk has probably already pulled out a chair.
You don't need the perfect deck. You don't need perfectly painted miniatures. You certainly don't need every rule memorised before your first game. Ask questions. Make mistakes. Roll dice. Learn as you go — that's how everyone here started.
“I'd rather answer the same beginner question a hundred times than watch someone walk out because they were afraid to ask it once.”

Advice
Ask Grokk
Grokk gives advice about Malediction — decks, dice, painting, competition, and occasionally subjects nobody is entirely sure he's qualified to discuss. Annoyingly often, it's pretty good advice.
Ask Grokk
Grokk answers questions live in the Deviant Dice Rollers Discord — rules, decks, events and lore. The Codex holds the same knowledge in writing.

The honest answer
So… Who Is Grokk?
He's not the hero of Deviant Dice Rollers.
You are. The players are.
- The player finishing their very first game.
- The painter posting a miniature they're finally proud of.
- The veteran teaching a newcomer the turn order — again.
- The crew driving three hours to a tournament for the fun of it.
- Four friends laughing at the most ridiculous roll of the night.
Grokk keeps the fire burning, the dice rattling, the doors unlocked and one more chair free. That's the whole job, and he takes it seriously.
