Starting hero

34 heroes have their class, faction, talent specialization and text box read straight off our own scans. Heroes from other sets are not indexed yet. A verified hero settles the hero side of the rules only — the deck still cannot be certified until each card it holds has been read as well.

Selectable heroes: 34 (16 from Heroes of Azeroth, 18 from Through the Dark Portal), each read off our own scan. The scan project checklist has 382 rows labeled Hero across its 22 main-set tabs. That counts checklist entries, not a verified number of distinct playable heroes, and expansions or special products may add more. Heroes we have not read yet are not offered.

How legality is checked

Class and faction choices use icons actually read off a scan. Faction comes only from the printed Alliance or Horde banner: high-confidence automatic matches, admin-confirmed readings or hand-verified heroes. It is never guessed from artwork, race, name or filename. “Verified: no faction icon” means a person confirmed the card carries none; unread cards are not illegal, they just need review.

Class Starter Deck: Only starters with verified deck lists are available. Starter printings are their own releases; their class, faction, cost and rarity still need review.
