What is actually being counted

Four different numbers, kept apart

These four measures answer four different questions. None of them is a definitive count of every card ever printed for the game, and none of them substitutes for another.

About the denominator

You may have seen a figure of roughly 8,788 cards quoted for this project. We do not treat that as a verified total, because we cannot check it against a source we hold. What we can count is the workbook itself: 8,531 card rows listed across its tabs, of which 8,260 remain once repeated promo printings are merged within each tab. That second figure is a sum of per-tab unique rows, not a count of distinct cards across the whole game, so the same card appearing in two tabs is still counted twice. Percentages on this page always name the denominator they use.

Set by set

Checklist progress per set and section

Each row is one tab of the workbook. “Listed” is how many card rows that tab contains, not a claim about the printed set size. The last column shows whether the vault holds a matching set under the same name.

“Not mapped” means we have not tied that tab to a vault set by name. Grouped treasure tabs cover several raids at once, so we leave them unmapped instead of inventing a per-set split. Sets we hold with no same-name tab: Assault on Icecrown Citadel, Battle of the Aspects, Caverns of Time, Dungeon Series - Scarlet Monastery, Dungeon Series - Shadowfang Keep, Dungeon Series - The Deadmines, Magtheridon's Lair, Naxxramas, Onyxia's Lair, The Black Temple, The Molten Core.

• Checklist source: WoW TCG Scan Project Checklist (community workbook, supplied 2026-09-23). Read-only; the workbook itself is left unchanged.
• Snapshot: Counts below are derived row by row from the supplied workbook copy and its STATUS cell colours. They describe the scan project's progress at the time that workbook was shared - they are not a live feed, they are not re-checked against the project, and they say nothing about whether DDR holds the scan.
• Why not the workbook’s own summary: The workbook's own INFO tab reports its headline figures through live spreadsheet formulas, so a static copy cannot be read for them; the totals here are counted from the card rows instead.
• Status colours: Scanned #274E13, Processing #1C4587, Needs scans #5B0F00, Needs review #660000.
• Vault last import: Fires of Outland on 2026-09-25, giving 6,295 scans in total.
