Painting your Malediction warband

A painted warband plays better. Not mechanically — but you will care more, your opponent will see your units clearly, and events feel different when both armies are finished.

The goal of this guide is table-ready, not display-cabinet. Three colours and a wash is a finished miniature.

What you actually need

A primer — dark for grim factions, grey or white if you want brighter colours.
Three or four base colours that read clearly across the table.
One wash or shade — this does most of the work.
Two brushes: a general base brush and something smaller for detail.
Basing material: sand, a texture paste, or flock.

A method that finishes warbands

Prime, block in your base colours, wash the whole model, then pick out two or three highlights on the areas the eye lands on: faces, weapons and any faction icon. Stop there. Detail on a fifth pass rarely shows at arm's length, and unfinished armies are more common than badly painted ones.

Paint for legibility

Keep one strong faction colour across the whole warband so your force reads instantly on a crowded battlefield. Contrast your bases against your models — a dark warband on dark bases disappears into dark terrain.
